Fees & Funding

Opening Hours – 8:00 am until 6:00 pm Monday to Friday, except for public and bank holidays, and from the 24th December until the 5th January.

We ask that all children attend at least 2 days a week to help support their transition and settling into the nursery environment.

Settling-in sessions.

We offer 3 free of charge settling-in sessions to see how the child settles. These sessions are an important part of a child’s transition into our care. If parents would like to book further short settling-in sessions, they will be charged the hourly rate stated in their contract and should be paid in advance.

Settling in period

The first four weeks of your contract is the settling-in period. This allows us to find out more about the child and their family. It also allows parents to find out more about our childcare service.  During this period the contract can be immediately terminated by parents or childminder without prejudice.

Calculation of fees

  • Parents can choose their child’s attendance in suitable time for them but within our working hours.
  • A full day is 10 hours, from 8 am to 6 pm.

At Childcare Happy Days, we are pleased to offer both 15 and 30 hours of Free Entitlement Funding for eligible children aged 9 months to 4 years, in line with government guidance.

To provide families with consistent, year-round childcare, we stretch funded hours across 50 weeks of the year, rather than offering them during term time only. This allows families to access funded childcare every week of the year and supports easier budgeting with no gaps in care.

What Funded Hours Cover

Funded hours cover the delivery of a high-quality, fully EYFS-compliant early years education and care, including:

  • A safe, nurturing environment
  • Qualified staff and supervision
  • Play-based learning in line with the EYFS
  • Access to indoor and outdoor learning environments
  • Care routines, including settling-in support
  • Inclusion and support for children’s individual learning needs

All children accessing funded hours receive the same high standard of care and education, regardless of how their hours are funded.

What Funded Hours Do Not Cover

Government funding does not cover additional services or consumables. These include:

  • Meals, snacks, drinks, and formula milk
  • Nappies, wipes, nappy cream, and toiletries
  • Sun cream and personal care items
  • Enhanced or optional activities (e.g. Yoga, Music, Makaton, STEM sessions)
  • Special events, celebrations, and professional decorations
  • Outings and external experiences
  • Personalised items (e.g. water cups, labels, safety wristbands)
  • Graduation items and celebration packs
  • Parent workshops and training sessions

At Childcare Happy Days, meals, consumables, and enhanced activities are provided as standard to support children’s wellbeing and learning. Parents who wish to opt in can download the full schedule of charges Click Here to Download

If parents choose to opt out of meals or enhanced services, they will still be able to access their funded hours and a fully EYFS-compliant provision, in line with our policies. However, any decision to opt out will require full adherence to our associated policies and procedures.

We are committed to being open and transparent about funding and fees and are always happy to discuss individual arrangements with families.
