Happy Teeth Adventure

Dear Parents,

With great excitement, I am delighted to introduce our new initiative – Happy Teeth Adventure.

Happy Teeth Adventure is a preventive oral health visit designed especially for young children. The session introduces children to caring for their teeth in a fun, gentle, and age-appropriate way, while also providing helpful feedback for parents.

As part of this visit, children will be invited to take part in a range of activities, including a brief, non-invasive visual dental check.

Participation in the educational activities is encouraged for all children, and you will have the option to consent to the dental check separately if you wish.

What Is the Aim of the Visit?
The session focuses on prevention, helping children to:

-Understand why we have teeth and how to look after them
-Learn that toothbrushing keeps their teeth “strong and clean”
-Recognise which foods help teeth stay healthy
-Feel comfortable meeting a dental professional
-Build positive habits from an early age

The activities also support EYFS learning by promoting:
-Personal care and self-awareness
-Communication and listening
-Early counting skills
-Understanding of healthy choices

What Will the Children Experience?

1. Interactive Story Session
A short and engaging story introduces tooth care through a friendly character. Children will take part in helping to “save the teeth” by practising good habits together.

2. Healthy Foods Activity
Children will explore a hands-on display of foods and learn about:

“Everyday foods” that help teeth grow strong
“Sometimes foods” that should be occasional treats
They will also count sugar cubes to support early numeracy skills.

3. Dry Toothbrushing Demonstration
Using models and their own toothbrush, children will practise brushing techniques in a fun and supervised way (no toothpaste will be used during the session).

4. Individual Visual Dental Check
Each child will be invited, one at a time, for a quick and friendly look at their teeth.
This is non-invasive and carried out in a relaxed, child-friendly manner.

What Will Parents Receive?
